Right now, there are many people who are trying to do something with IMAGINE PEACE - make their own posters, own buttons, and pass it around in their own schools, etc. I think it will be very good to see Denver doing it in style - An event in the Park!
...Please write to us and tell us how it went with photos and stories and we will publish them on the IMAGINE PEACE website.
Hundreds of people gathered in Civic Center Park to paint, to celebrate art, to hear music, and to support peace.
Imagine....
Artists...professionals, amateurs, adults, children, students and the biggest names in the Denver art scene.... all together for one day to paint in the park.
Imagine....
Bands and DJs supplying a musical backdrop featuring songs by John Lennon, the Beatles and songs about peace.
Imagine...
Peace organizations operating on local, national and international levels... groups targeting domestic violence, gang violence, and international war... all represented in one place, educating and accepting donations.
Imagine...
A day of art, music and inspiration that you'll never forget... free to all, on John Lennon's birthday.

Calling All Artists
You need to be here! Civic Center Park is a beautiful setting - over a city block of landscaped park connecting the Denver Art Museum and the State Capitol! The music of John Lennon and the Beatles will be your muse, and you can paint anything you want! Bring samples of your work to show if you'd like. Just bring your own materials, easel, etc and come pick your spot! You may arrive and leave any time you want! Servers will come around to provide artists with free drinks and snacks.
We're looking for professionals and amateurs, art students and art superstars!
Want to Paint, but not an Artist?
Come on Down! We will provide areas for free lessons and demos, and there will be art materials available at the Paint-In! You can leave with a souvenir of the Paint-In that YOU created!
A Note to the Teachers:
Bring your classes! Participation is free! Come any time, pick a spot and stay as long as you want! Bring your materials, your students... and show them how art can change the world!

Contribute!
Anyone can contribute to the Paint-In! Even if you can't make it to the park, you can make a small donation that will mean SO MUCH! We are giving 100% of our profits to PEACE groups - including the Student Peace Alliance, the Colorado Coalition Against Domestic Violence, the Colorado Campaign for the Dept of Peace, and the Metro Denver Gang Coalition!
We offered to give 50% of the profits to Yoko's "Imagine Peace.com" project, and she graciously said that she would rather see us keep the money in our local community and put it towards peace groups here. So, the money we raise will stay in Colorado and work toward increasing peace awareness here.
Click HERE to make a contribution of $5, $10, $20 or more! Even $5 helps a lot!
GALLERIES can also contribute at the $300 Gallery Sponsor Level and receive the following benefits:
- Linking Logo in our Partners section on the website home page.
- Partner listing in all of my emails that go out
- 10 x 10 Tent in the Park where you can promote the gallery, and have Gallery artists paint throughout the day.
- Your info, location, etc on a Denver Art Map being produced (thousands) for the event.
