Who Can Participate?
EVERYONE! Participation in the Imagine Peace Paint-In is FREE and OPEN TO ALL.
Whether you are one of Denver's Art Superstars - or maybe you have never even picked up a paint brush!
Professionals, Amateurs, Hobbyists, Oil Painters, Watercolorists, Fingerpainters, Sculptors, Adults, Kids, Students, Seniors, Art Classes, and more!
Why Should YOU Participate?
If you believe in the power of art, if you believe in music and if you believe in peace, you should be at this event. We are gathering to honor the power of art and to honor the artists and musicians who CREATE.
We are trying to arrange for all participating artists to receive complimentary drinks and food during the Paint-In. The Paint-In honors you and your work.
This event takes place right between the Denver Art Museum and the State Capitol Building! And it's one month before the Presidential Election. Apathy is for losers!
Bring your friends and family and come join us! This event is FREE for ALL! you may arrive and leave anytime you wish.
We are negotiating with a major local art supplies company to provide a large Art Supplies station at the Paint-In. So, if you forgot your thinner, or if you need another canvas - we've got you covered!
You may display your art to the huge crowds we are expecting. This is also a great way to promote yourself and your art!
Class and Group Participation
Classes and groups may register as one entitiy, or as individuals. This is something we will be actively encouraging!
Our event is on a Thursday, from 10 am - 6pm, so it is a GREAT opportunity for an art class field trip!
Two Ways to Participate:
1) Just show up at the park, ready to paint on Thursday, October 9, between 10 am - 6 pm.
2) Register in Advance, get your page on our website and "Paint for Pledges!"

Artist Parking:
Artist Parking at Civic Center Cultural Garage
at the Denver Art Museum, under Museum Residences.
Enter garage at 65 W. 12th
Walk out the NW door - on 13th
Walk across DAM plaza into park.
Parking Rates:
$1/hr for first 3 hrs
after first 3 hrs - $2 hr until $8 max for all day
Artists with too much to carry:
1) may unload at the Vendors parking lot then move car.
Enter from Bannock, south of Colfax.
Parking lot in front of McNichols bldg inside Civic Center Park.
2) May unload at the Denver Art Museum loading zone on 14th Ave directly across from the park, then move car.
Other Options:
- Several parking lots on 13th Ave west of the Art Museum
- Metered Street parking good for limited times.
- Dedicated parking for busses and school busses on Broadway at the Park
Participation Rules and Guidelines:
- All artists must sign in at the park, in order to get your free gift packet and your hand stamp for complimentary beverages.
- Bring your own supplies and display materials. You may also purchase supplies at the Paint-In.
- Be respectful of other artists and don't take up too much space if the park gets crowded.
- Each artist or group is responsible for their own set-up and tear-down. You may bring a tent or canopy that does NOT stake into the ground.
- Do not spill, dump or leave any chemicals, paints, trash or other materials on the park grounds. Trash Cans and special disposal containers for chemicals and rags will be available.
- You may arrive as early as 10 am. The Paint-In ends at 6pm.
- Artists may bring a small selection of existing works to display in their area.
- Artists may also acquire an $8 sales tax license and sell art at the Paint-In! The state has just made it SIMPLE - We'll give you the form at the Paint-In and you can do everything AFTER the event! We take no commission, but ask that you donate 10% of sales to one of our participating Peace Organizations.
- Persons who are deemed disruptive to the spirit of our event may be asked to leave the park.
- We do not believe in censoring art, but ask that all artists remember this event is open to the public and children will be present.
- More Guidelines may be added as we communicate further with Park officials.
